Your file is not our data.
The direct-transfer service is built to avoid collecting file contents. This page explains the limited technical data that is still needed to operate the website and establish a connection.
Files and file names
Selected files remain in the sender's browser and are sent through the live WebRTC connection. We do not receive or store their contents in our application or database.
File names and sizes are shared with the intended receiver as part of the transfer. They are not intentionally sent to Vercel Analytics.
Connection metadata
Vercel hosts the website and may process standard request information such as IP address, browser details, timestamps, and requested pages for security and service operation.
PeerJS signalling and STUN/TURN services process the technical identifiers and network information required to connect two browsers. These services do not need the unencrypted file contents to establish the session.
Privacy-focused analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic such as page views, referrers, device types, and countries. It does not use third-party cookies and Vercel describes its analytics data points as anonymous and aggregated.
Unique transfer codes in receiver URLs are replaced with the generic path /t/[code] before an analytics page view is sent.
